I'm David, a documentary wedding photographer with a bit of an analogue heart. Based in East Yorkshire, I regularly cover Beverley, Bridlington, and Driffield, but my camera takes me wherever the story is, from the Yorkshire Wolds to the Midlands and beyond.
My journey back to photography was a homecoming. It began decades ago with an old camera and the smell of darkroom chemicals. That old school beginning still shapes what I look for today: grain, light and moments that feel real rather than overly polished.
After more than four years and 60-plus weddings, I've learned that the strongest photographs happen when you let the day breathe. I'm there as a calm presence, not to direct every minute and to let you enjoy your day.
I'm happiest photographing couples who are unapologetically themselves and more interested in having a brilliant day than performing for a camera. If there's some emo or pop-punk on the playlist, even better.
